Flexible Atrium Space
This space converts from a social gathering space to a netted area for flying drones.
Our faculty and students share ideas, equipment, and research space.
The expanded 12,000-square-foot space in the Technology Institute includes small, specialized laboratories; a high-ceilinged atrium for flying drones; a makerspace complete with 3D printers, a laser cutter, benchtop machine tools, hand tools, soldering equipment, and supplies; and a wide-open collaboration space that the researchers call the “robot zoo” where students and faculty can test their work on wheeled mobile robots, walking robots, swarmbots, and robot arms and hands.
This space converts from a social gathering space to a netted area for flying drones.
This area features a number of robot arms, mobile robots, and swarmbots for shared use.
Students in the Master of Science in Robotics program use this space to collaborate on projects.
In this space, equipped with the latest technology, students work on building prototypes.
No creative space would be complete without a cozy kitchen.
In this space, undergraduate and graduate students can collaborate or work individually.
